Apple II ROMs

This page is devoted to and contains dozens of stunning Apple 2 ROMs, which anyone can come and download for free. If you are not sure what it is about, here’s a brief introduction. The ROMs we are offering here are records of games of the first computer released by the same-name computer company. It became a direct heir of Apple I, a computer that has never been produced in large quantities yet embodied many technical innovations that have been successfully applied in the next version, which we are discussing here. 

The computer was first introduced in 1977 at a computer fair and became one of the first and most successful personal computers of the time. Several models of the device were manufactured and the most popular of them had been sold until the 1990s. A total of 5 to 6 million copies were manufactured. Unlike other devices of that time, Apple II looked more like an office tool than an electronic device. It was a computer suitable for home environment, manager offices or classroom.

Also unique for that time was the use of color and graphic modes of high resolution, its sound capabilities, as well as the built-in programming language. Compared to earlier machines, these features were well documented and easy to learn. Thus, Apple II marked the beginning of the revolution in the field of personal computers: it was a machine for the masses, and not only for amateurs, scientists or engineers.
